Four student cultural centers are built on four separate locations throughout the OSU campus. Each center reached LEED equivalency.
The first center to break ground was the Native American Cultural Center. We demolished the existing Native American center and building a new 3,600 SF Longhouse. The structure consists of wood and heavy timber construction, with a spread footing foundation, and a building skin consisting of vinyl-clad wood windows and wood siding, with an asphalt shingle roof.
The remaining three student centers include the Lonnie B Harris Black Cultural Center, the Asian & Pacific Cultural Center and the Centro Cultural Cesar Chavez. The Black and Latino cultural centers are the first of their kind in the United States.
These new, approximately 3,500 SF buildings are located on OSU's campus. Three existing buildings were demolished, and one was built in a new location.
